The Community Care Network of Kansas held their annual conference in Manhattan Ks, September 11 – 13, 2019. During that conference, Denise Cyzman, CEO of Community Care Network of Kansas presented Dr. Eplee the 2019 Distinguished Community Health Support award. The Atchison Community Health Clinic appreciates Dr. Eplee’s support in our mission to care for the uninsured and underinsured in Northeast Kansas. Below are the notes from Denise Cyzman.
Representative Eplee, a family physician from Atchison, has served his constituents in Atchison and Doniphan counties since 2017. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair on the Health and Human Services Committee. Dr. Eplee has demonstrated ongoing and loyal support of commonsense health legislation that seeks to better the health of Kansans and their communities. We are grateful to Representative Eplee for his support of Medicaid Expansion and his devotion to expanding healthcare services for diverse populations, from students, to expectant mothers, to the elderly. Dr. Eplee’s medical expertise and insights on healthcare-related issues has been a critical resource during the legislative process on topics as diverse as immunizations, telehealth, and public health. Recently, we had a brief discussion with Dr. Eplee on 340B, and it is clear he understands the importance of these savings to health center and patients you serve. We know the legislature will address many health issues during the 2020 legislative session, and we look forward to working with you. Representative Eplee, we are pleased to present you with our 2019 Distinguished Community Health Supporter award as a token of our appreciation for you steadfast support to strengthen Kansas community care clinics and increase access to quality health care, whole-person care for all Kansans.
